Everyone involved in the Big Midnight Walk deserves a well earned rest and a huge pat on the back!
On behalf of Rowcroft Hospice and Macmillan Cancer Support, a huge thank you to everyone who took part in, volunteered for and supported Big Midnight Walk 2009.
The night was an incredible success, we were absolutely blown away by the support shown to the two charities from our 2000 walkers, 200 volunteers and many companies that got involved.
The weather on the day threatened to put a halt to the event, which on such a large scale has been a mammoth undertaking to organise. But, as with last year, the clouds broke at the crucial moment and left us with clear skies and big smiles!
On the night the ladies pledged an astounding £175,000! We hope that when we add Gift Aid the event may raise in excess of £200,000 for Rowcroft Hospice and Macmillan Cancer Support. Such a fantastic amount will make a huge difference to the care that both charities give to people in South Devon living with life threatening illnesses and the support that is given to their families.
